The Burgers That Changed Everything


Lately, I have been all about the beef. Grass fed beef in particular.

A couple months ago I was lucky enough to receive over 40 pounds of local grass fed ground beef from a cousin of mine who raises grass fed cows on his farm just outside of Saskatoon. It goes without saying that I felt like I was in heaven when I received this amazing gift from him! I tell ya, give me food and I am a happy girl.

Since receiving all of this ground beef, I have been enjoying it on a daily basis. I plan to do an entire post about the benefits of grass fed beef compared to grain fed beef in the near future, so I’ll hold back on that subject today because, really, today is actually not about the beef. It’s about these burgers!

These burgers are called “The Burgers That Changed Everything” and they were created by my close friend and fellow Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Leanne Vogel of Healthful Pursuit.

I have known Leanne for years and finally met her in person this past June when I was in Calgary, Alberta visiting friends and family. Leanne is honestly one of the most vibrant people I have ever met and she is out-of-this-world passionate about helping others, especially women, with their health.

Leanne specializes in high fat eating and this particular way of eating has allowed Leanne to take charge of her health and become the vibrant woman she is today. The Burgers That Changed Everything

Serves: 4
  • 1 pound grass fed ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon grey sea salt
  • Freshly ground pepper, to taste
  1. Add all ingredients to a bowl and mash with your hands until fully combined.
  2. Divide into 4 patties and press into shape.
  3. Grill on your barbecue or in a 350F oven for 20 minutes.
  4. Serve with your favourite burger fixings in a romaine lettuce wrap!
