#GainingWeightIsCool + How To Make 2017 Your Year of Self-Love

You have likely already heard, but there is a new hashtag trending right now and I’m thrilled that it’s one I can fully get behind. Unlike the hashtag, #morningabs, in which I am completely against, the new and trending hashtag, #gainingweightiscool, is something I am in full support of.

I saw this hashtag being used earlier this week by a few of my favourite Instagramers and then soon felt a pull to share a post using the hashtag myself.

I was overwhelmed by the response I received from this post. I have come to realize that honesty and transparency is always well received in the social media world, so I am always sure to be completely open and real with my audience, but what excited me most about the response I received from this post was the acceptance to the invitation I offered at the end:

“So, may I ask you at the beginning of this new year of 2017, instead of committing to weight loss or achieving a certain physique goal, can you make your 2017 year a year of self-love? Who is ready to dive into this journey? I am here to support you”

I am excited because I truly believe that fighting our bodies is slowly becoming something of the past. More and more women come to me on a daily basis, asking me for tips on how to love themselves or how they can get started on the self-love journey with me. We as women are beginning to come to the realization that we are so much more than our physical appearance and our ability to be loved is not confined by how much we weigh or how “toned” our bodies are.

To be loved and to love ourselves begins with us, you. Self-love is an inside job. It requires you to get in touch with your soul and most likely do some of the “hard work” you have been avoiding for much of your life. For years, I have been on this journey of self-love and along the way have developed somewhat of a self-love “formula”, which I will be sharing with you in great detail in my upcoming book (for more information on my book, read this post).

However, for those of you wanting to commit to the journey of self-love now and not wait until the end of the year when my book is released, there are a few things you can do to begin your journey:

Loving myself changed my life and I truly believe that we cannot be fully healthy or happy if we do not love ourselves first, which is why I am writing an entire book on healing and how self-love fits into that.

I am excited for you to join me on this journey to self-love and show the world that loving ourselves is truly a foundational piece to our health and healing.
